SPAGHETTI FASHION: My Own Fashion

I have always thought that whatever people enclosed into the concept of fashion was limited, often not creative, until I moved to New York.

People is what they want to be, or at least it should be like this. In NYC it is a little bit easier. Since I came to the Big Apple, I like to be stylish. If you like something and buy it, that is fashion. Nobody says anything, nobody even looks at you, or sometimes they do, but only if what you wear particularly likes.

A month ago I bought the leggings of the Garden Collection by H&M, to be clear those floral, very colored. I wore them with a blue dress, and fuchsia high heels (12 cm). Voila, I got out. An Italian friend said he would bet everything on the fact that, according to him, I would never dress like that in Milan. Probably he was right. Perhaps it is also one of thousand reasons why I'm happy to be invisible in the crowded Manhattan.

Ho sempre pensato che qualsiasi cosa si racchiudesse nel concetto di fashion fosse limitativo, molto spesso poco creativo. Finché non mi sono trasferita a New York.

La gente è ciò che desidera, o almeno così dovrebbe essere. A NYC diventa un po' più facile. Da quando sono nella grande mela, mi piace essere fashion. Se ti piace una cosa e la compri, quello va di moda. Nessuno ti dice niente, nessuno neanche ti guarda, o a volte sì, ma solo se qualcosa che hai addosso piace particolarmente.

Un mesetto fa ho comprato i leggings della Garden Collection di H&M, per intenderci quelli floreali coloratissimi. Li ho abbinati a un vestitino blu e tacchi dodici fucsia. Voilà, sono uscita. Un mio amico italiano voleva scommettere qualsiasi cosa sul fatto che, secondo lui, non mi sarei mai vestita così a Milano. Probabilmente ha ragione. Ed è forse uno dei mille motivi per cui sono felice di essere invisibile nell'affollata Manhattan.
