SPAGHETTI FASHION: WE ALL DID IT. WE ALL REGRET IT.

We all did it. We all regret it after a week or two. Obviously I'm not talking about casual sex with strangers, but about something that goes deeper: cutting bangs.

I cut the fringe before coming to New York for New Year’ eve. When I got out of the hairdresser I felt so cool. I usually allow the enemy (the hairdresser) just a trim. This time I gave him carte blanche on that strand of hair. For the first time in years, people noticed that I had a haircut. Wow such a radical change. Too bad that after two weeks I started to think about changing my glasses. Within few days, a thick wall of hair was placed between me, and the world. Since then I have tried everything: clips, headbands, lacquer, a lot of lacquer.

Luckily this year headbands are super stylish. I find them everywhere. I started with a soft, black, very simple one. Then I went to the floral. Now I am considering one with the feather, 30s style (that one in the picture, by Forever 21). In the meanwhile, my fringe has grown. But hell, now I really like headbands.

L'abbiamo fatto tutte. Ce ne siamo pentite dopo una o due settimane. Ovviamente non sto parlando di sesso occasionale con sconosciuti, ma di qualcosa che va più nel profondo: il taglio della frangetta.

Ho fatto la frangia prima di venire a New York per capodanno, appena uscita dal parrucchiere mi sentivo fighissima. Io che di solito concedo al nemico (il parrucchiere) giusto una spuntatina, gli ho dato carta bianca su quella ciocca di capelli. Per la prima volta dopo anni la gente se ne accorgeva che avevo tagliato i capelli. Wow un cambiamento radicale. Peccato che dopo due settimane ho cominciato a valutare l'ipotesi di cambiare le lenti degli occhiali. In pochi giorni una fitta parete di capelli si era posta tra me e il mondo. Da allora ho provato ogni cosa: mollette, cerchietti, lacca, tanta lacca.

Meno male che quest'anno vanno super di moda i cerchietti. Li trovo ovunque. Ho cominciato con uno soft, nero, molto semplice. Poi sono passata a quello floreale. Ora sto valutando quello con la piuma anni '30 (quello nella prima foto, Forever 21). Nel frattempo la frangia è cresciuta. Ma al diavolo, i cerchietti mi piacciono proprio tanto.

Quanto è vero, la moda e il gusto spesso nascono dalle necessità giornaliere.
